  4. PM Gnu Chess4.0 v0.9 is a Presentation Manager application which uses GnuChess 
  5. 4.0 patch level 65 as the chess engine. The program is based on previous 
  6. efforts to port gnu chess 3.1 to Windows by Darly K. Baker and OS/2 v1.2 by 
  7. Kent Cedola. 
  8.  
  9. Start with Kent Cedola's code, here are what I did: 
  10.  
  11. o Rewrote the most part of the main module (pmchess.c). 
  12.  
  13. o Got gnuchess 4.0 chess engine work with PM GUI (hard part, to understand 
  14.   someone else's thousands of lines of source code is not easy after all) 
  15.  
  16. o Used Multithreaded programming technique (OS/2 programming is fun) 
  17.  
  18. o Added continuously scalable board and piece (tricky) 
  19.  
  20. o Redesigned menu logic 
  21.  
  22. o Redesigned the pieces 
  23.  
  24. o Implemented opening book to pmchess 
  25.  
  26. o Added save, load and list game features 
  27.  
  28. o Added language file to display some of information 
  29.  
  30. o Added on-line help 
  31.  
  32. o Fixed bugs caused by multi-threading (This is hard part, since GDB 
  33.   doesn't do multi-thread debug) 
  34.  
  35. o Fixed many other bugs (time consuming) 
  36.  
  37. o Added STOP and REFRESH commands 
  38.  
  39. I would like to thank Kent Cedola and Daryl Baker for their hard work to 
  40. convert GNU Chess from a character mode to a GUI world in the first place.

  50. The File menu contains commands that you use to start a new game, open, and 
  51. save games. In addition, it also contains the command that you use to exit the 
  52. PM Gnu Chess4.0. The following commands appear in the File menu:

  54. New            Start to play a new game 
  55.  
  56. Open           Opens a saved game or an unfinished game 
  57.  
  58. Save           Saves current game 
  59.  
  60. Save As        Saves the current game with different format 
  61.  
  62. Exit           Quits the PM Gnu Chess 4.0

  72. You can open a saved game that exists on any drive or in any directory by using 
  73. the Open command. To open a game, do the following:

  77. A dialog box appears, showing you a list of files in the current directory.

  82. You use the Save command to save a game. To save a current game, do the
